Abraham Kiptum's Half Marathon World Record Ratified by the IAAF

The IAAF announced Thursday that the half marathon world record set by Abraham Kiptum at the Valencia Half Marathon has been ratified.

Kiptum, of Kenya, took five seconds off Zersenay Tadese's 2010 world record at the end of October when he ran 58:18.

Kiptum's next race is Friday at the Abu Dhabi Marathon.
